• Drawing Foundations:  Drawing is the foundation of all art. This class will help both beginner and intermediate students gain the needed skills and understanding to be able to draw and model form in order to create meaningful pieces of art.  Students will work from geometric models, two-dimensional references, and plaster casts of heads.  The Drawing Foundations Class includes instructor demonstration and individual instruction.
   
• Head Drawing:  This drawing class is for intermediate to advanced students. This class involves drawing from a live model under one-source lighting. Drawing lesson topics include: Shapes, Values, Edges, Planes of the Head, and Abstraction. Students will learn to work from a live, three-dimensional person to create a two-dimensional work of art. There will be instructor demonstrations and individualized instruction.
   
• Life Drawing:  (Head & Figure Drawing)  This figure drawing class is for intermediate to advanced students. This class involves drawing from a live model under one-source lighting. Emphasis will be placed on drawing the head and figure. Life drawing lessons include: Shapes, Values, Edges, Planes of the Head, and Abstraction. Students will learn to work from a live, three-dimensional person to create a two-dimensional work of art. There will be instructor demonstrations and individualized instruction.
• Oil Painting Essentials:  Our oil painting class is designed to introduce beginner artists to oil painting and to help intermediate painters refine their skills. The topics covered in these oil painting lessons will include: working in oil (working methods), constructing well designed shapes, organizing values, making edges work for you, understanding color theory, and working with design and composition. Students will work from two-dimensional reference material (photos). The Oil Painting Essentials class includes instructor demonstrations and individual instruction.
   
• Watercolor Essentials:  Our watercolor painting class is designed to introduce beginner artists to watercolor painting and help intermediate painters refine their skills. The topics covered in the watercolor basics lessons will include: working in watercolor (working methods), constructing well designed shapes, organizing values, making edges work for you, understanding color theory, and working with design and composition. Students will work from two-dimensional reference material (photos). The Watercolor Essentials class includes instructor demonstrations and individual instruction.
• Oil - Painting from Life:  Students should have a firm grasp of oil painting fundamentals before taking this painting class. The class will include head and figure painting from a live model under one-source lighting. Students will learn how to take the vast and complex information presented in a live model and organize this to create a painting. Painting lesson topics include: constructing well designed shapes, organizing values, making edges work for you, understanding color temperature and harmony, working with design and composition, and mastering oil painting techniques.
• Watercolor - Painting from Life:  Students should have a firm grasp of watercolor painting fundamentals before taking this painting class. This class will include head and figure painting from a live model. Students will learn how to do watercolor portraits and figurative work. Painting lesson topics include: constructing well designed shapes, organizing values, making edges work for you, understanding color temperature and harmony, working with design and composition, and mastering watercolor painting techniques.
